Breakout in the dream of owning a house! Cyber criminals created a fake website of MHADA, panic in the authority after cheating of 50 lakhs

Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has recently announced a lottery for about two thousand houses. A large number of people are applying online to get cheap houses, and in such a situation cyber fraudsters have also become active. Mumbai Crime Branch has busted such a cyber fraud gang and arrested two people.
Cyber fraudsters were creating a fake website of MHADA and asking people to apply. This gang has cheated people of about Rs 50 lakh so far. Mumbai Crime Branch has exposed this gang of cyber fraudsters.
DCP Datta Nalawade of Mumbai Crime Branch said that a fake website similar to MHADA’s website was created and a payment link was given, which was linked to the accused’s account. Whatever money people were paying in it, it was going to the accused’s account.
Cyber cell has arrested two accused in this case, one of whom, Kalpesh Sewak, had created a fake website, while Amol Patel used to claim to help people win lottery by posing as a MHADA officer.
The Crime Branch DCP said that they tried to give the impression to people that they were MHADA officers and the money they were paying for the house was authentic. The money they were paying on the website was also authentic, in this way they were cheating people.
