GNE organized workshop on “Extensive Use of Technology in Teaching and Learning for School Teachers”

Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana under it’s community outreach program organized One day hands-on workshop on “Extensive Use of Technology in Teaching and Learning for School Teachers” on 22nd May 2023. The workshop was one of its kind to collaboratate with city schools to implement the theme of National Education Policy-2020 (NEP-2020) and aimed to empower the educators with the knowledge and skills necessary to leverage technology effectively in their teaching practices. School teachers from various eminent schools of the city participated in the workshop. They were given the real time experience of using various softwares and techniques which can enhance the efficacy of teaching-learning processes in present times.Dr Randhir Singh, Er. Satinderpal Singh and Dr Rajvir Kaur delivered expert lectures and took practical sessions. Dr Sehijpal Singh, Principal, GNDEC Ludhiana addressed the participants and insisted on the symbiotic relationship between schools and higher education institutes to bridge the gap in existing curriculum and practical approach for problem solving.

Mrs. Harmeet Kaur Waraich, Principal, Nankana Sahib Public School Gill, Ludhiana, Dr Akshay Girdhar, Dean(Academic), Dr K S Mann (Head, IT Dept.) were also present at this moment and enlightened the participants about the salient features of NEP-2020 and the use of technology based learning rather than promoting rote learning among students. Certificates were distributed to all the participants. The attendees expressed their appreciation for the comprehensive content, hands-on activities, and the opportunity to network and share ideas with fellow educators.
Owing to the overwhelming response of the teachers to attend such workshops, the second phase of the workshop will be carried out shortly to support the educators in learning modern tools and techniques for the effective implementation of NEP-2020.
