Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha member Raghav Chadha has received a major setback from the Delhi High Court. The court has refused to grant any interim relief on his petition seeking protection of personality rights. The High Court clarified that personality rights do not arise in this case. However, the court had already ordered the removal of five social media posts and documents that were prima facie defamatory. The court also said that the remaining content cannot be considered defamatory at this stage, hence no interim order will be issued in this regard. This case has once again brought into the discussion the issue of balance between the rights of politicians and the freedom of expression of the people.
