NASA’s historic Artemis II mission successfully launched from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at around 3:54 am on April 2, 2026. This mission is a significant step in the return of humans to the Moon after 54 years, as no human mission had gone to the Moon since the Apollo 17 mission in 1972. In this mission, four astronauts will orbit the Moon via the Orion spacecraft and then return to Earth. Although this is not a landing mission, it is considered a major preparation for human presence on the Moon in the future and long-term plans.
