ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ, 19 ਮਈ – ਸੀਆਈਸੀਯੂ ਨੇ ਐਨਡੀਆਰਐਫ ਟੀਮ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਵਪਾਰਕ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਦੀ ਵੱਧਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਮੌਕ ਡ੍ਰਿਲ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ
ਭਾਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਕਿਸਤਾਨ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਵਧਦੀ ਭੂ-ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਅਨਿਸ਼ਚਿਤਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵਧੇ ਹੋਏ ਫੌਜੀ ਤਣਾਅ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ, ਚੈਂਬਰ ਆਫ਼ ਇੰਡਸਟਰੀਅਲ ਐਂਡ ਕਮਰਸ਼ੀਅਲ ਅੰਡਰਟੇਕਿੰਗਜ਼ (CICU) ਨੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਲਚਕੀਲੇਪਣ ਨੂੰ ਯਕੀਨੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਦਲੇਰਾਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਕਦਮ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਹੈ। CICU ਨੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕਿਰਿਆ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਤ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਨਾਲ, ਫੋਕਲ ਪੁਆਇੰਟ, ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿਖੇ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਮੌਕ ਫਾਇਰ ਅਤੇ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਡ੍ਰਿਲ ਦਾ ਆਯੋਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਸੀਆਈਸੀਯੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ: “ਤਿਆਰੀ ਹੁਣ ਇੱਕ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਫਰਜ਼ ਹੈ।” ਇਸ ਸਮਾਗਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਸੀਆਈਸੀਯੂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਸ੍ਰ. ਉਪਕਾਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਆਹੂਜਾ ਨੇ ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਘਟਨਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਆਪਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਬੋਧਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ:
“ਜੰਗ ਵਰਗੇ ਤਣਾਅ ਦੇ ਮੰਡਰਾ ਰਹੇ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਹਾਈ ਅਲਰਟ ‘ਤੇ ਹੋਣ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ, ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਮ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਤੋਂ ਪਰੇ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਹਰ ਫੈਕਟਰੀ, ਹਰ ਵਰਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਅੱਗ ਲੱਗਣ ‘ਤੇ, ਸਗੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸੰਕਟ ਦਾ ਤੇਜ਼ੀ ਨਾਲ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਰਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਡਰ ਪੈਦਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ – ਇਹ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ।”
ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਭੂ-ਰਾਜਨੀਤਿਕ ਅਸਥਿਰਤਾ ਦੇ ਪਲਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ, ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਖ਼ਤ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਕਾਰਜਾਂ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਨ ਦੇ ਯੋਗ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।
ਹੱਥੀਂ ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਬਚਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸਿਖਲਾਈ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਅੱਗ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਮਾਹਿਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਅਤੇ ਸਥਾਨਕ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਸੇਵਾਵਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਸਮਰਥਤ, ਇਸ ਅਭਿਆਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਸਨ:

ਸੀਆਈਸੀਯੂ ਦੇ ਜਨਰਲ ਸਕੱਤਰ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਹਨੀ ਸੇਠੀ ਨੇ ਟਿੱਪਣੀ ਕੀਤੀ:”ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਮਸ਼ਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ – ਇਹ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਸਿਮੂਲੇਸ਼ਨ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜੇਕਰ ਟਕਰਾਅ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਘਨ ਜਾਂ ਐਮਰਜੈਂਸੀ ਵੱਲ ਲੈ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ। ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਉਦਯੋਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੈ-ਨਿਰਭਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।”
ਉਦਯੋਗ ਦੀ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰੀ ਵਧਦੀ ਜਾਗਰੂਕਤਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੁੱਖ ਨਿਰਮਾਣ ਇਕਾਈਆਂ ਦੇ 100 ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਕਾਮਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਪਰਵਾਈਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਿਰਕਤ ਕੀਤੀ। ਫੀਡਬੈਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਸਕਾਰਾਤਮਕ ਸੀ, ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀਤਾ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਕੀਤੇ।
ਸਥਾਨਕ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਡ੍ਰਿਲ ਦੇ ਵਿਹਾਰਕ ਫਾਰਮੈਟ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ੰਸਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੀਆਈਸੀਯੂ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਹੋਰ ਉਦਯੋਗਿਕ ਕਲੱਸਟਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਮਾਡਲ ਨੂੰ ਦੁਹਰਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਅਪੀਲ ਕੀਤੀ।

CICU Organizes Industrial Mock Drill Amid Rising Need for Emergency Preparedness in Business Houses, in Collaboration with NDRF Team
In a time of growing geopolitical uncertainty and heightened military tensions between India and Pakistan, the Chamber of Industrial & Commercial Undertakings (CICU) has taken a bold and timely step to ensure industrial resilience. CICU conducted a comprehensive Mock Fire & Emergency Drill at its Complex in Focal Point, Ludhiana, aimed at strengthening emergency response preparedness in local industries.
With national security concerns escalating and government agencies urging institutions to be “crisis-ready,” CICU’s proactive initiative sends a clear message: Industrial safety and disaster readiness cannot be delayed.
Preparing for the Unexpected in Uncertain Times. The mock drill simulated a large-scale fire emergency—complete with smoke, evacuation sirens, fire extinguisher operations, and coordinated rescue protocols. Workers from multiple industrial units actively participated, gaining hands-on training in evacuation, firefighting, and emergency communication.
In light of potential spill-overs from regional conflict scenarios—such as power grid disruption, fire hazards, or civil emergencies—CICU’s event has emerged as both a timely and critical training ground for industrial workers.
CICU President: “Preparedness Is Now a National Duty.” Speaking at the event, Mr. Upkar Singh Ahuja, President of CICU, addressed the broader implications of current events:
“With war-like tension looming and national security on high alert, we must go beyond routine safety. Every factory, every worker, must be prepared to respond swiftly not only to fires, but to any form of crisis. This is not fear-mongering—it’s responsibility.”
He emphasized that in moments of geopolitical instability, industries must be able to protect both human life and economic operations through rigorous preparedness.
Hands-On Learning Saves Lives. Led by trained fire safety experts and supported by local emergency services, the drill included:
Immediate evacuation of industrial workers
Use of fire extinguishers and hose reels
Real-time response to mock fire and smoke situations
Instruction in basic first aid and injury assessment
Guidance on coordination with fire departments and emergency responders
Mr. Honey Sethi, CICU General Secretary, remarked:
“This is not just a drill—it’s a simulation of what could happen if conflict leads to infrastructure disruption or emergencies. The industries of Punjab must be self-reliant and safety-equipped.”
Industry Participation Reflects Growing Awareness Over 100 workers and supervisors from key manufacturing units attended the session. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants saying the session instilled both confidence and urgency.
Local safety officers praised the practical format of the drill and urged CICU to replicate this model across other industrial clusters in Punjab.
A Broader Safety Campaign Underway. CICU confirmed this drill is part of a larger safety campaign that will include:

Coordination with NDRF and civil defence units
VR-based training simulations
Workplace safety certification workshops
