In Punjab, the Special Task Force (STF) Jalandhar team, while conducting an operation against drugs, has succeeded in arresting a drug smuggler along with a huge consignment in Amritsar. The STF team has arrested a local drug smuggler in a raid in Amritsar.
The consignment recovered from the smuggler came from Pakistan. Currently, the police have started action to arrest the main accused. The accused has been identified as Gurdev Singh, a resident of village Dhariwal Bagga, who is now living in village Mohan Bhandaria.
AIG Jagjit Singh Saro and DSP Inderjit Singh said that confidential information was received about the accused. Based on this information, the police raided near Sohian Kalan Gurdwara on Fatehgarh Churian Road in Amritsar district. From where we succeeded in arresting the accused Bagga.
When the police searched him, 10 kg 163 grams of heroin was recovered from him. Its international value is said to be Rs 70 crore. DSP Inderjit Singh, STF, said that this could be a big smuggling network and the police are investigating it thoroughly.
