The Punjab State Election Commission has released the schedule for the elections to Dinanagar, Gurdaspur, Qadian and Shamchaurasi Municipal Councils. Along with this, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the concerned areas with immediate effect. Candidates will be able to file their nomination papers from May 30 to June 3, while the scrutiny of nominations will be done on June 4. The last date for withdrawal of names is June 5. Voting for the elections will be held on June 13 from 8 am to 4 pm and the counting of votes will also be done on the same day. The Election Commission has assured to make all necessary arrangements for conducting free, fair and peaceful elections.
