The Punjab government, under the able leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann, has set a historic precedent by facilitating the entry of foreign investment into the state on a large scale. Punjab is becoming the first choice for industrialists in the country. Stating about the policy, Paramveer Singh Advocate – Vice Chairman of Punjab Medium Industry Board said that yesterday’s meeting about the Punjab government’s “Fast Track Investment Program” went very successful. The impact of the new policy amendments are directly visible. Massive investments have been registered in the industry in the last few months. This is a strong step towards the progress of Punjab. With the launch of the second phase of “Fast Track Punjab Portal”, the eyes of investors from home and abroad have turned towards Punjab. The Chief Minister has been giving great priority to industry in the state since the first day of the government. Industry minister Sanjeev Arora is working hard to engage investors in the state. Taking a major step in this series, the government has provided important facilities to industrialists by providing 173 services under one roof. Earlier, under the leadership of Mann Sahib, Tata Steel has set up country’s second largest plant at Ludhiana with an investment of Rs 2600 crore. These efforts have led to a huge increase in private employment in the state. The Chief Minister himself has visited the major industrial cities of the country and encouraged investors to come to Punjab. Along with this, the investment which had gone out of Punjab in previous years is also moving back to the state. The Chief Minister’s foresight is proving effective in making Punjab the number one state in the country again.
