ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, 22 ਫਰਵਰੀ 2025 – ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਐਡਵੋਕੇਟ ਜਨਰਲ (ਏਜੀ) ਦੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਨੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੇ 232 ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਸਤੀਫ਼ੇ ਮੰਗੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਕਦਮ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਜਕਾਲ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਸਾਲ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਚੁੱਕਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਏਜੀ ਦੇ ਦਫ਼ਤਰ ਨੇ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਹੁਦਿਆਂ ‘ਤੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ, ਮੌਜੂਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਡਿਊਟੀਆਂ ਨਿਭਾਉਂਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ।

22 feb 2025 – The office of the Advocate General (AG) of Punjab has sought resignations from 232 law officers of the state. This step has been taken due to the completion of one year of tenure of these law officers. The AG’s office clarified that till new officers are appointed in these posts, the existing officers will continue to perform their duties.

The Advocate General’s office has assured that the recruitment process of new officers will be completed soon so that there is no disruption in the government work. The office of Advocate General Gurvinder Singh Gehri has directed these 232 law officers to remain in their posts till further orders and continue their work without any hindrance. The move is aimed at maintaining smooth functioning in the legal departments of the state while the recruitment process of new law officers is underway. The AG’s office stressed that the process will be expedited to avoid any delay or hindrance in the official proceedings.
