Terrorists opened fire on army camp, search operation intensified in the area

A day before Republic Day, news of a terrorist incident has come to light in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir. Here, terrorists fired at an army camp in Bhatodi and Muar areas of Bilawal area late last night, after which the army retaliated. Currently, a search operation is underway by cordoning off the area.
Earlier on Friday, Additional Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Satish S. Khandare reviewed the security situation and deployment of troops along the international border in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir during the day. During this, he discussed operational aspects with field commanders and interacted with soldiers.
Security has been beefed up in Jammu and Kashmir to ensure smooth and peaceful celebrations on the occasion of Republic Day. The army is on alert mode, especially keeping in mind the security in the border areas. Two days ago, during a search operation in Pulwama district, security forces busted a terrorist hideout and recovered a cache of arms and ammunition.
During the search, security forces recovered one hand grenade, one UBGL, one electric detonator, ten API 7.62 rounds, one pistol magazine, one pistol round, one IED triggering device and one broken magazine along with other arms and ammunition. The Indian Army on Wednesday morning shot down a Pakistani drone that had crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district and entered Indian territory. The drone had been hovering near the border in Mendhar sector for some time.
