Holiday declared on December 10, schools and colleges will remain closed

The martyrdom day of Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh is being celebrated on December 10. In view of this, a local holiday has been declared in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh. On this day, there will be a holiday in all schools and colleges there. 

In this regard, orders have been issued by Bilaspur Collector Avnish Sharan. Let us tell you here that Veer Narayan Singh was the first freedom fighter of Chhattisgarh, who fought against the British. The British government hanged him on 10 December 1857 at Jai Stambh Chowk in Raipur. This day is celebrated in Chhattisgarh in memory of Veer Narayan Singh. He fought for the rights of the tribals and farmers of the state and sacrificed his life.
