Court orders to register FIR against Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, allegations of extortion through electoral bonds

The court has ordered to register an FIR against Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the case of alleged extortion through electoral bonds. This order has been given by the People’s Representative Court of Bengaluru. Adarsh Iyer, co-president of Janadhikar Sangharsh Parishad (JSP), had filed a complaint in the Bengaluru court and demanded to direct action against Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman.

Adarsh Iyer alleged that extortion was done by threatening through electoral bonds. Jan Adhikar Sangharsh Parishad had filed a petition in the 42nd ACMM court in April last year and complained against Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, ED officials, BJP national president JP Nadda, other national leaders of the party, then Karnataka president of BJP Nalin Kumar Kateel, BY Vijayendra. Hearing the complaint, the court directed the Tilak Nagar police station of Bengaluru to register a case of extortion through electoral bonds.After considering the petitioner’s complaint, the Bengaluru court has directed the Tilak Nagar police of Bengaluru to register an FIR. Senior advocate Balan presented arguments on behalf of the petitioner. The hearing of the case has been adjourned till October 10.
