Panchayat Elections in Punjab are about to start. Cabinet meeting of Punjab government was held yesterday. In which a long discussion was held on this issue. After this meeting, the news is coming out that panchayat elections can be held by the first week of November. The government is going to send a proposal to the Election Commission and the dates are expected to be announced in the next few days.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had already started preparations for Panchayat elections . Two days ago, the CM also held a meeting of Aam Aadmi Party MLAs . In which the MLAs were asked to go to the villages and ordered to unite the people with them.

According to the sources, the Punjab government wants to hold the elections of Municipal Councils and Municipal Corporations in the month of November itself. The Chief Minister has also informed the Advocate General of this opinion as the election matter is pending in the High Court
