UGC ਨੇ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਲਈ ਪੀਐਚਡੀ ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਤ ਖਤਮ ਕੀਤੀ – ਪੜ੍ਹੋ ਕਦੋ ਤੱਕ ਨਿਯਮ ਲਾਗੂ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ
ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਗ੍ਰਾਂਟਸ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨ (ਯੂਜੀਸੀ) ਨੇ ਜੁਲਾਈ 2023 ਤੱਕ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਲਈ ਪੀਐਚਡੀ ਦੀ ਡਿਗਰੀ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਰਤ ਖਤਮ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਡਾਕਟਰੇਟ ਦੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਦੇ ਅਹੁਦਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਅਰਜ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
ਮੀਡੀਆ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ, ਇਹ ਦਾਅਵਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸਿਸਟੈਂਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ ਦੀ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਲਈ, ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੀਐਚਡੀ ਹੋਣ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਰੂਰਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਯੂਜੀਸੀ ਨੈੱਟ ਦੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਭਾਵ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰੀ ਯੋਗਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੀਖਿਆ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ। ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਲਾਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨਵੀਨਤਮ ਅਪਡੇਟਾਂ ਲਈ ਯੂਜੀਸੀ ਦੀ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟ ਜਾਂ ਅਧਿਕਾਰਤ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਹੈਂਡਲ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ।

Chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC) Prof. M Jagadesh Kumar on Friday said that PhD is not mandatory for recruitment to the posts of Assistant Professors in universities and colleges and a qualification in UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) would suffice.
The UGC Chairman who inaugurated the newly constructed UGC-HRDC building on OU campus on Friday said a one nation-one data portal was being developed, which will have all UGC guidelines and other details. Along with academics in the conventional mode, Prof. Kumar said quality education would be extended directly to students through the National Digital University from the next academic year.
