Newly Recruited Agriculture Development Officers got Induction Training at PAMETI

Ludhiana, July 20 : Punjab Agricultural Management and Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) under the overall guidance of Dr Sukhdev Singh Sidhu, Director of Agriculture, Punjab has started the induction training programme for the newly recruited Agriculture Development Officers (ADOs) of the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Punjab. The programme is designed to be conducted in two batches from 20-25 July, 2021 and 26-31 July, 2021 in offline mode. In first batch, 55 ADOs and in second batch, 53 ADOs will attend this induction training.
Dr Suhdev Singh Sidhu, Director of Agriculture inaugurated the first batch of training programme and congratulated all the newly appointed officers. He further added that these officials will act as harbinger of change as they will work at the field level and remain in constant touch with the farmers. He motivated the officers to work with full potential and honesty. He explained about pesticide usage in the state, Insecticide Act and its quality control.
Dr H S Dhaliwal, Director PAMETI while explaining the objective of the programme said that induction training of newly recruited employees in any organization is very important as during the training they come to know their roles & responsibilities for the organization.
The training included sessions on organizational structure and functioning of the department and the expected roles of ADOs in their department. Heads (Joint Directors) of various sections/wings of the agriculture department will interact with the trainees and will impart knowledge about the operations of their respective sections. Different acts & rules being enforced by the department in the State regarding agricultural inputs will also be discussed in detail.
Exposure visits to agriculture departmental labs and crop residue management machinery and sites at PAU will be conducted where the trainees will interact with the experts and learn about the seed, fertilizer and insecticide testing procedures and various methods of crop residue management developed by PAU.
