Patiala, August 11: Mr. Chander Gaind, Divisional Commissioner, Patiala appealed to the people to take necessary precautions to prevent the transmission of Corona Virus for the success of the Mission Fateh launched by the Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh. Mr. Gaind said that people should not get panic as the situation in Patiala district was under control as all arrangements have been made by the Punjab Government, Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research Departments for the treatment and spread of COVID.
Mr. Chander Gaind today reviewed the Situation of COVID in Patiala district by Chairing joint meeting of Civil Surgeon Dr. Harish Malhotra, Medical Superintendent, Rajindra Hospital Dr. Paras Kumar Pandav and Deputy Medical Superintendent Dr. Vinod Dangwal.
While applauding the work being done by the Health Department and the doctors of the Govt Medical College and Rajindra Hospital, he said that both the departments should work together to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and further strengthening the infrastructure for treatment in isolation wards.
Mr. Chander Gaind sought detailed information from the Civil Surgeon about the increase in cases of Covid-19 positives in Patiala district, their contact tracing, testing, isolation in private and government hospitals and micro containment and containment zones . He also got information from the Medical Superintendent about the services being provided by the doctors including the availability of beds and other facilities for the treatment of COVID Patients.
Mr. Gaind reiterated his call on the people to maintain Social distance, including wearing masks, wash their hands frequently and avoid large gatherings to avoid the contagion of Covid-19. He said that challans would be issued against those who did not do so, as per the law.
