War Against COVID-19 Can Be Won Only by Taking Precautions and Cooperation of Residents

Patiala, July 14- Deputy Commissioner Patiala Kumar Amit while exhorting the people to adhere to the precautions must to prevent the spread of COVID-19, disclosed that around 308 patients have won over the CORONAVIRUS in the District so far.
He said that health and administrative teams were working round the clock to stop further spread but their efforts would only be fruitful, if the people could extend Cooperation from their side too. He said that we can contain the spread of disease only by adhering to the precautions like wearing the mask, maintaining the social distance and washing hands frequently.
“Rsesidents can play a pivotal role in containing of disease by adopting the preacutionary measures strictly,” he added.
Referring to the testing figures proviede by Civil Surgeon Dr. Harish Malhotra, the deputy commissioner said that around 31000 samples have been collected and being tested. He further said that if anyone have the symptoms of COVID-19, he/she must come forward for his/her testing so that it could not transmit to other from the infected person.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that if any one has any symptoms of cough, cold or covid, then must dial 104 or go to the nearest health center for medical help. “It is also important to take special care of the elderly, young children, pregnant women or any person having comorbidity in your home,” he said.
Mr. Kumar Amit said that due to the increase in the number of COVID-19 positive cases, the administration has had to earmark several containment or micro containment zones including Dhiru Ki Majri in Patiala, Anand Nagar Extension, Top Khana Road, Machhi Hatta in Samana, Piragari Mohalla, Tej colony and Jatta Patti for maximum testing and to stop regular activities and movement of the people so that the CORONAVIRUS could not spread further.
Civil Surgeon Dr. Harish Malhotra said that the Health Department was continuously conducting sampling in the district to identify the infected persons and also urged the people to take precautionary measures to control the pandemic in the district. He said that the teams of the health department were working actively 24 hours a day but the cooperation of the general public was much needed to control the spread of disease.
He appealed that if any person has symptoms of covid, it should not be hidden but must be tested in time, to prevent the spread of the disease. He said that COVID-19 patients were being treated and cared for day and night by the dedicated staff of the health department.
