Drug smuggling network busted, 3 arrested with 5 kilos of heroin and drug money of 3.95 lakhs

Amritsar Commissionerate Police seized 5 kilos of heroin and 3.95 lakhs during the financial war against drug smuggling networks across the border during the war to eradicate drugs from the state. 3 drug smugglers have been arrested along with drug money of Rs. This information was given by Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Wednesday.
The arrested persons have been identified as Gurpreet Singh and Harpreet Singh alias Happy resident of village Rodanwali, district Amritsar and Jota Singh resident of village Chatewali, district Ajnala Amritsar. D. G.P. Gaurav Yadav said that the preliminary investigation has revealed that the accused Jota Singh and Harpreet Singh alias Happy are in direct contact with Pakistan-based drug smugglers, who supply drugs through drones across the border. DGP Said that this matter was investigated in a technical manner and N. D. P.S. Under the Act F. IR has been recorded. Sharing the details regarding this operation, Commissioner of Police (CP) Amritsar Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that the teams of Cheharta police station had received reliable information that some persons had received a large consignment of drugs dropped by drone from across the border. The said persons have hidden the consignment in their house located in New Ajnala Colony. Acting on the information immediately D. C. P. City Amritsar Abhimanyu Rana and A. C. P. Under the leadership of West Shivdarshan Singh, the police teams of Cheharta Amritsar police station laid a trap and arrested the accused from the house located in New Ajnala Colony. Apart from recovering heroin and drug money, police teams have also seized their Maruti Swift car and motorcycle
