COVID 19 TESTING THROUGH “RAPID TESTING KITS” TO START IN LUDHIANA SHORTLY: DEPUTY COMMISSIONER

Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal have informed that Novel Coronavirus (COVID 19) testing would be done through “Rapid Testing Kits” in the district shortly. He informed that the state government have ordered these kits and are expected to reach Ludhiana shortly.
Mr Agrawal informed that the test is simply done with a single prick to take a blood sample and the result is available in 15 minutes. He said that the state government has ordered Rapid Testing Kits from the ICMR.
District Magistrate-cum-Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal informed that after a delivery boy has been tested positive for COVID 19 in Delhi, all restaurants opened in Ludhiana on trial basis, have been ordered to remain closed till further orders. He informed that no restaurant would be able to operate or do home delivery in Ludhiana.
He informed that no new positive case have been reported in the district today. He said that till now, 895 samples have been sent for testing, out of which report of 757 have been received. The report of a total of 722 samples is negative, report of 138 samples is awaited, while 22 samples were rejected.
Mr Agrawal informed that the door to door survey of both the hotspots of district is being carried out, under which 2172 persons in 420 households of village Chowkimann and 2202 persons in 475 households of village Gurre have been found asymptomatic. A similar survey is already going on at Amarpura Mohalla of city, in which 2867 persons were surveyed and four persons have been found symptomatic and they have been sent to Civil Hospital and their samples have been sent for testing.
As the wheat procurement season have been started, the deputy commissioner has appealed to the farmers to bring their produce in the mandis as per their turn. He informed that out of the total wheat arrival at Khanna mandi, 90% of the wheat has already been lifted. He assured the farmers that every single food grain would be procured by the government.
FACEBOOK LIVE INTERACTIVE SESSION HELD:
To answer to the queries of residents regarding COVID 19, the District Administration today held a Facebook Live session from the Ludhiana Police Facebook page. This session was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mr Pradeep Kumar Agrawal, Commissioner of Police Mr Rakesh Kumar Agrawal, Civil Surgeon Dr Rajesh Kumar Bagga, along with a panel of five specialist doctors namely Dr Lydia, Dr Rajesh Mahajan, Dr Mohandeep Kaur, Dr Vikas Sikri and Dr Seema Singhal. During this session, the district administration officials as well as the doctors answered to the questions posted by the residents on Facebook live.
