GRDCEG Celebrates Nomination of Ajay Pal Singh Banga

A Special session of Guru Ram Das Centre For Economic Growth (GRDCEG) under the aegis of Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle was held today to celebrate the Nomination of S. Ajay Pal Singh Banga to the post of President of World Bank by American President, a moment of delight & pride for every Indian.The meeting was attended by leading Industrialists , Scholars & Professionals of the City.
Presiding the Meeting, Upkar Singh Ahuja, President CICU said that his appointment will enhance the image of Indian diaspora especially the unique identity of Sikhs .He emphasised the need to train our youth with latest skill sets to achieve the goal of $5 trillion economy by 2025.Dr Puran Singh discussed the soft power of Indian mind & hoped that this will inspire Punjabi & Sikh youth to win Nobel prizes in the near future.Dr Balwinder Pal Singh felt that Mr Banga’s appointment will glorify the diverse culture of India & he will work to reduce the gap between haves & haves nots with allocation of more funds for developing & poor countries.
Mr Tejvinder Singh , President GRDCEG , stressed on the need to avail the schemes of World Bank for infrastructure development of Punjab , Value addition in Agri products & replacing thermal power with green & solar power.
Gurmit Singh, Honorary Secretay Akal Takhat Sahib, thanked the American President for selecting competent & Sikh business leader for the post of World Bank.Jatinder Pal Singh , a Sikh Scholar, advised the Sikh youth for emulating distinguished Professionals in the business World with higher education & innovative thinking to win jobs in Corporate World.
The meeting decided to observe Ardas Smagam on the day of assuming charge as chief of World Bank by Mr Banga.
Jaspal Singh, Secretary, thanked the participants for their views & suggestions.
CA Sukhminder Singh & CA Avneet Singh presented the local chapter of Chartered Accountants.
Leading social workers & scholars of city S Partap Singh,S Inderpal Singh S Amritpal Singh ,Hardip Singh, Surjit Singh ,Tarlochan Singh , Harjit Singh & Amarjit Singh Texla Khalsa were present on the occasion.
